Blu-ray

After Outlaw Star finished its initial run in 1998, it received several home releases in various formats, with the most recent being a high-definition Blu-ray release. This release currently serves as the basis for the show on streaming services.

COMPLETE Blu-ray Box (Japan)

The Complete Blu-ray Box (stylized as COMPLETE Blu-ray BOX) was released on October 29, 2014 in Japan and is the series' first high-definition release. The entire series was rescanned from the original 35mm film negatives and contains new commentary tracks on select episodes. Subsequent international Blu-ray releases reuse several aspects of its packaging, artwork, and features.

Outlaw Star: The Complete Series - Collector's Edition (UK)

The first international release of the high-definition Outlaw Star remaster was announced by Anime Limited, with an initial release date of December 5, 2016 before being released earlier on November 14, 2016. In a blog post discussing the specifics of the release, Anime Limited confirmed the inclusion of the English dub, as well as a newly-translated 100-page artbook. The packaging closely resembles that of the original Japanese Blu-ray release, with a new back cover in English detailing the includes features.

A standard edition Blu-ray was released by Anime Limited on August 5, 2017. This version contains the same on-disc bonus content found on the collector's edition Blu-ray but is in a standard case and doesn't contain the art book.

Outlaw Star: The Complete Series (Collector's Edition) (US)

The Complete Series (Collector's Edition) (US)

A Blu-ray/DVD collector's edition package by Funimation was released on June 13, 2017. The Funimation release comes in a stylized chipboard box modeled after the titular ship. Apart from the packaging, the US collector's edition Blu-ray is identical to the UK release but includes an additional four-disc set of DVDs.

Outlaw Star: The Complete Series (Standard Edition) (US)

A standard edition of the Funimation Blu-ray was released on the same day as the collector's edition package, featuring different packaging. This version also lacked the art book contained with the collector's edition, but the on-disc bonus features are otherwise identical to the collector's edition release.
