Outlaw Star anime[]
The following characters appear in the Outlaw Star anime.
Rob Cain[]

"Death Rob" arrives at Clyde's bar.
- Clyde: "You're "Death" Rob?!"
- Rob Cain: "Some people call me that."
- —Outlaw Star, "Outlaw World"
Rob Cain, known as "Death Rob," is an outlaw who appears in the first episode, "Outlaw World." Rob sought revenge for his brother Butch, whom Gene Starwind had killed during a brawl a month prior at Clyde's Bar on Sentinel III. Upon arriving at the bar, Rob interrogated Clyde about Gene's whereabouts, who eventually confronted him. Rob, revealing himself to be Death Rob and boasting that he had killed 30 men, was unable to believe a "runt" like Gene had killed his brother. Rob became infuriated when Gene teased him by calling him "Deaf Rob," which initiated a fight between the two. Despite being shot by Gene multiple times, Rob, a "type C "cyborg, initially survived until Jim Hawking revealed his weakness, a "bias line" running through his ribs. After severing the line, Rob was finally defeated by Gene
Notes[]
- Rob Cain is voiced by Kazuhiro Nakata in Japanese and Gavin Glennon in English[1].

Outlaw Star pilot[]
The following characters appear in the unaired pilot episode.
Unnamed pink creature[]

The rabbit-like creature appears in the pilot next to Jim Hawking.
An unnamed pink rabbit-like creature appears alongside Jim Hawking in the unaired pilot episode. Due to its pink color and appearance next to Jim, it is speculated[2] that it would fill a similar role to Gilliam II's pink maintenance bot. It does not appear in any other production or promotional material.
Unnamed robotic assailant[]

An unnamed robot appears in the unaired pilot episode, acrobatically attacking the unnamed woman with a form of whip-like energy emitting from the top of its hands. The robot appears to have a mouth and teeth, with the spirals on its exterior indicating it may be a Kei Pirate Guild machine. It loosely resembles the armored mech-like robots piloted by the Kei Pirate assassins in "Forced Departure."
Unnamed woman[]

The unnamed woman in the unaired pilot episode.
An unnamed woman appears in the unaired pilot episode, firing a pistol at a robotic assailant. The woman is not referenced by name in any known production material and no design sheets exist showcasing the character. Due to not appearing in the series proper, the unnamed woman has been speculated[3] to be an early design for Hilda, but there has been no confirmation otherwise.
