The Outlaw Star (ship), nicknamed the "Outlaw Star", is the eponymous grappler ship of the series. The result of a collaboration between the Kei Pirates and the Space Forces, it is stolen by "Hot Ice" Hilda and later falls into the possession of Gene Starwind and his crew.
Summary
The XGP 15A-II is a grappler ship, and is frequently referred and gloated by many characters as the most advanced ship in the galaxy. The ship's chief architect was Gwen Khan, who used information he decoded from the Grave of the Dragon ruins to build the XGP. Its construction was requisitioned by the Kei Pirates, but the Kei Pirates alone could not build such an advanced ship. Because of this, the Alliance was contracted in secret to assist in building the XGP solely as a ship that could find and breach the Galactic Leyline. Melfina - the ship's navigator - was created alongside the XGP, and her presence is required to fly and maneuver the ship, as well as control the drives and various internal processes, such as switching between flight and combat mode.
Characteristics
Appearance
The XGP is a fairly large ship, sporting a red and blue paint-job (originally fully green)[1] with a large decal of a star on the hull. It features a spacious interior, with a kitchen, cargo hold, sleeping quarters, several corridors and a bridge shown. Being a grappler ship, two large mechanical grappler arms stay folded in the bottom of the ship, and unfold to the ship's sides when the user activates grappler combat mode.
Abilities
Sporting an on-board artificial intelligence system, the XGP features many systems not present on other ships (such as the synthetic-cyborg interfaced navigation system) and shares very few similarities with other highly advanced ships, such as the El Dorado. It is equipped with two large grappler arms which can be freely controlled by the user, as well as various peripherals such as weapons and tools that can be used by the arms. Inside the ship, artificial gravity is produced by a newton reactor.
